As a follow up to the annual UNFPA World Report on Population titled "Towards hope: women and the international migration", UNIC Brazzaville organized in association with UNFPA Office a panel discussion on "Causes and results of migrations by women in the Congo".

It was marked by the screening of a video tape on population matters under the guidance of UNIC. In addition to the key speaker, Mr. Raoul Goyenzi, Professor of Sociology at Marien Ngouabi University, three women shared their migration experience. UNIC was responsible for briefing the above speakers on this activity. UNIC also prepared invitations, moderated the panel discussion and coordinated photos and media coverage. Among the audience were representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Security, media, NGOS, University students and UN staff as well. The UNFPA Representative took part in the event.
